Terms of Service

Last updated: October 8, 2026

By accessing torontocrimescore.com ("the site") you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

Purpose of the Site

Toronto Crime Score aggregates publicly available crime data for Toronto neighborhoods and presents normalized statistics and safety scores for informational purposes. The site is provided for personal, non-commercial use.

No Guarantee of Accuracy; Not Safety Advice

The site and its data are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, express or implied. While we source data from the Toronto Police Service open data portal (including its Environics Analytics population projections) and work to keep calculations accurate, the data may be incomplete, delayed, or contain errors, and our scoring methodology involves editorial choices.

Crime scores and comparisons are not safety advice and must not be used as the sole factor in decisions about where to live, invest, or travel. Always verify with official sources, including the Toronto Police Service.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the site's operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of, or reliance on, the site or its data โ€” including decisions made in reliance on safety scores or neighborhood statistics.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • use the site in any way that violates applicable Canadian law;
  • scrape, mirror, or resell the site or its data at scale without permission (public open-data sources remain available directly from their publishers);
  • attempt to disrupt, overload, or gain unauthorized access to the site or its hosting.

Advertising

The site displays advertising served by Google AdSense. Ads are labelled "Advertisement" and are kept separate from the site's data tools. We do not endorse and are not responsible for advertised products or services. Advertising and cookie practices are described in our Privacy Policy.

Intellectual Property

The site's presentation, safety-score methodology, and original content are the property of the site's operators. Underlying crime data is public open data governed by its original publishers' licences (Toronto Police Service; Environics Analytics for the population projections), and the site is not affiliated with or endorsed by either organization.

Changes and Governing Law

We may modify the site or these terms at any time; continued use after changes are posted constitutes acceptance. These terms are governed by the laws applicable in the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada.
